Letter from Persephone to Demeter

Mother, I'm so far from you
In the land of endless winter
You told me in your letters
How the flowers withered
Because I am not there
How the winds howled
Rattling your windows
How grey the earth is
Without me.
You miss me, mother?

But I'm so happy here
In the arms of Death himself
His cold breath on my lips
Those lonely eyes
Are my home now
You are wrong, mother
He didn't snatch me away
From you
I came,
Voluntarily.

And I am never going back again.
