We decided
to spend the last day in Gangtok only. We (read, I) were too exhausted. So we
took a cab and went to places we had not covered yet.
First we
went to Gunjang monastery.

Next we went
to Tashi view point. Although, we could not see Kanchendzonga due to cloudy
weather.

After lunch,
we went to the Directorate of Handloom & Handicraft. It’s under govt. of
Sikkim and the best place to buy local artifacts.
They had some
very good collections of Thangkas, chogtze, soft toys, lepcha woven bags, local
Sikkimese dresses etc.
Next we
visited the zoo.

We had
flight at 1pm next day. We started at 6 in the morning from Gangtok. The entire
city was still asleep; M G Marg was almost deserted except those stray dogs and
porters.
Our vacation was over. It’s time to get back to the boring daily life.
I was feeling a little sad. Promising that we would come back here again, we
boarded the cab, bidding adios to the beautiful city. Kolkata, here we come.
